Jim Bob Hobbs

I am very excited to be starting my 3rd year as secondary school principal at Ridgway and 16th year in education! Prior to joining the Ridgway team, I spent two years as the high school principal at Roosevelt ISD, five years as the junior high principal for Floydada ISD, and six years teaching in Wilson and Plainview – all in Texas.

I received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English and minor in biology from Angelo State University in 1996. I completed a Master of Education degree in educational leadership and principal certification in 2001 and obtained my Superintendent certification in 2006, both from Texas Tech University. Currently, I am in the process of earning a Doctorate of Education in educational leadership from Texas Tech University.

My family consists of my wife, Juli, and 4 children. Our children are Sierra (age 19), Garrett (age 10), Katy Beth (age 7), and Braun (age 5). The 2011-2012 school year at RSS will be full of excitement and successes and I greatly look forward to working with all stakeholders to help achieve all that we can on behalf of our fantastic student body!
