The Ridgway School District (RSD) Administration and Staff planning teams are working closely with Ouray County Public Health (OCPH) and the guidelines as outlined by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) in the Toolkit for Reopening, to reopen RSD school in-person in the Fall of 2020 as safely as possible.  To do so, we have created a series of guidelines and best practices for a responsible reopening of our schools. The Ridgway School District still plans to open with in-person instruction on August 31st.  We will utilize a blended learning approach incorporating an online learning platform, protective health measures and the use of outdoor learning venues.  Our blended learning design will allow flexibility should large infection spikes in the year force suspension of in-person learning.

First Week of School Schedule

 

2020 - 21 Bell Schedules

Ridgway Elementary School will utilize a staggared start and pick-up schedule as follows throughout the school year:

  • Start Time: 8:00am - Kindergarten - 2nd Grade;  8:10am - 3rd - 5th Grade; 8:15am - Preschool
  • Pick-Up: 2:50pm - Preschool; 3:00pm - Kindergarten - 5th Grade

Ridgway Secondary School will observe a standard start and pick-up times as follows. No early release schedule will be implemented with the exception of parent-teacher conference days:

 

Colorado Digital Learning Solutions - Online Learning Platform

RSD has partnered with Colorado Digital Learning Solutions (CDLS) to offer a full online program for students that do not want to return to school in person. Registration for the CEL program will be conducted through the 2020-21 Registration and Enrollment page. The CDLS site coordinators for each school building will be in contact with each family choosing this options on the registration page to complete the registration process.
