MS Girls Cross Country team with championship banner and trophy

From RSS Athletic and Activities Director, Shawnn Row:

A couple of shout-outs before we get started today.  A HUGE, HUGE congratulations to our MS Girls Cross Country team for getting first place in state this weekend!!!  They went the whole season without losing a race.  We had 5 girls finish in the top 30 and they won by over 40 points!  Coach Peterson and Croke, along with the Ouray and Silverton coaches have done a tremendous job with this motivated and dedicated team.  With a core group of 8th graders leading the way they have a bright HS future as well.  The boys team also finished 5th place!  It's great to see our small schools come together and run fast!

HS Cross Country ended their season at regionals this past week.  Though we didn't have a lot of numbers, every kid improved tremendously throughout the season.  To me, that's what life is all about; constantly improving yourself.  And that can be done through sports through consistent hard work and dedication.

The HS Boys Soccer team won their final game of the season against CRMS.  Coach Randolph and Schumacher worked really well together to get this young team ready for the future.  The upperclassmen worked well with the younger kids to balance out a team that lost 8 seniors the year before.  Keep working hard and it'll pay off!

HS Climbing starts tomorrow.  YOU CANNOT CLIMB IF YOU DON'T HAVE A CLIMBING WAIVER SIGNED AND TURNED IN TO THE OFFICE, MYSELF, OR COACH GAGNE.  They can be picked up in the front office or the gym today.  Climbers must also have a  physical and athletic handbook completed by the end of the week.
