HS Basketball will be in full swing this week with our first home game against Debeque on Saturday at 1pm. Before the game, we are doing a court dedication to Steve Hill for his services provided to Ridgway since 1968. Coach Hill won multiple state championships and set a state record in 1996 with 73 consecutive wins. He was the shop teacher during this time as well and came out of retirement numerous times when Ridgway schools needed him. Please spread the word to anybody who was influenced by Coach Hill to come join this celebration at 12:45pm.
Basketball is our busiest indoor season and one that needs the most help with concessions and collecting gate fees. Please sign-up here to do your part to help out our programs. Thank you so much!
Here is what we have this week:
HS Basketball
- Wednesday, 11/29 hosting Telluride for a scrimmage. Girls at 4pm, boys at 5pm.
- Saturday, 12/2 hosting Debeque at 1pm. Girls varsity followed by boys varsity.
MS Boys Basketball
- Wednesday, 11/29 @ Ouray at 4:30pm. B then A.
- Bus leaves at 3:10pm. They may ride the Ouray Route bus after school. I'll confirm with the transportation department on Monday.
- Thursday, 11/30 @ Telluride at 5pm. B then A. Bus leaves at 3:15pm.
- Telluride pushed this back so our B can play their C team.
- Saturday, 12/2 Conference Tournament. A team only. This will most likely be in Dolores. Time and place will be determined after Thursday's game. It looks like we will be the 4th or 3rd seed at this point.
Knowledge Bowl
- Monday, 11/27 @ Norwood at 3:00pm. Bus leaves at 1:45pm.
