Our very own Dr. Terra Malmstrom, guidance counselor at Ridgway Secondary School, is heading to the Harvard Divinity School Centennial Conference on Rudolf Steiner on December 15 and 16. She will share the stage with international thinkers including Matt Segall of the California Institute of Integral Studies and Meinhard Simon, Professor of Marine Microbiology at the University of Oldenburg.

Her talk, “Beyond Survival: Kenotic Love, Honeybee Wisdom, and the Spiritual Science of Evolution,” will explore how love and cooperation can shape evolution.

In the true spirit of a hive, Dr. Malmstrom invites local artists of all kinds, including painters, musicians, poets, photographers, dancers, and more, to submit their original works to tmalmstrom@ridgway.k12.co.us. Each slide of her Harvard presentation will feature a different piece of Ridgway art. All contributors will be credited and recognized.

Malmstrom is known not only for her work with students but also for her efforts to engage the community. She hosts scholarship awards, connects students with post secondary opportunities, teaches about bees at the library, and serves as a steering committee member of the Ridgway Community Apiary. Her presentation at Harvard will be another step in that direction, bringing people together with big ideas both locally and globally.

The conference is free to attend online.
