As our community continues to respond to the Gold Mountain Fire, our thoughts are with everyone who has been impacted. We also want to thank the wildland firefighters, first responders, and emergency personnel who continue to work tirelessly to protect our community.
This evening at 7 PM, the Rocky Mountain Complex Incident Management Team will host a public meeting in the Ridgway Elementary School Performing Arts Center (PAC). This open meeting is an opportunity to hear the latest fire updates, learn about response efforts, and ask questions. Please park at the North Gravel Parking Lot and enter through the North Door.
Yesterday morning, more than 70 evacuees attended a meeting in the Elementary School PAC. The meeting gave evacuees an opportunity to share their needs with Ouray County emergency officials and learn more about what to expect before returning home.
The Evacuation Center at Ridgway Secondary School continues to support registered evacuees, with some individuals also camping in the parking lot. Athletic activities scheduled in the RSS gym have been canceled this week. Construction and HVAC installation at the school continue as planned.
The Ouray County Commissioners are now holding virtual emergency response meetings daily at 11 AM. Agendas and Zoom information are available on the Ouray County BOCC Agendas page:
