The Ridgway School District R-2 in the County of Ouray, State of Colorado, calls for nomination of candidates for school directors to be placed on the ballot for the regular biennial school elec-tion to be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
At this election, three (3) directors at-large will be elected representing Ridgway School Dis-trict R-2 for a term of office of four years. To be qualified, a candidate must have been a regis-tered elector of the school district for at least 12 consecutive months before the election and a res-ident of Ridgway School District R-2. A person is ineligible to run for school board if he or she has been convicted of committing a sexual offense against a child.
A person who desires to be a candidate for school director shall file a written notice of intention to be a candidate and a nomination petition signed by at least 25 eligible electors who are regis-tered to vote in the regular biennial school election.
Nomination petitions may be obtained at the Ridgway School District Office located at 1115 West Clinton Street. Summer office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Beginning August 11, 2025, office hours are 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Completed petitions shall be submitted to Dona Hawken, the School District’s Designated Elec-tion Official, no later than 3:45 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025.
