Principal at Ridgway Elementary School

Perri Gipner (Ms. Perri)
This is my 16th year in education and my first official year as principal of RES. I stepped in last year as interim principal after serving as the school’s literacy interventionist for two years, and I couldn’t imagine a more supportive environment. While this is my first year in the permanent role, I bring over a decade of experience as a school administrator and a continued passion for fostering meaningful, student-centered learning.
I’ve lived in Southwestern Colorado since 1997 and currently share my home with my husband, Greg, three dogs, and a whole lot of outdoor gear. During my time in Ridgway, I even took a year off from education to check off a bucket-list experience: baking for a local restaurant. These days, I enjoy spoiling our staff with fresh baked goods whenever I can!
Over the years, I’ve served as a teacher and school leader, but no matter the role, my belief has remained the same: schools thrive when we nurture connection, creativity, and a shared commitment to every child’s growth. I believe in leading with authenticity, listening with curiosity, and making decisions that center on what’s best for kids.
I welcome your ideas and input, whether it’s a quick hello at pick-up, a conversation over coffee, or a message in my inbox. We’re better when we work together.
I look forward to all the learning, laughter, and growth ahead.
